TIFF Files

Tell me if I am wrong. I understood that working in Photoshop and saving the file as TIFF I end up having an image which means that if I place the same file in any other application this file will be read as a plain image without the particular "properties"(sorry the way I am explaining).
Now my question: I need to send a two color cover to print and the file has shadows and many effects that I really want to have in the cover. Everything was done in Illustrator. Is there any way for me to save like TIFF (If what I told is right) so I won't have any problem with printing?
I think I gave all the details. If need something else....

TIFF wil be fine for the image as long as you set your Document Raster Effects settings to 300 dpi or highr and transparency flattener presets to High.

TIFF is pure raster so ability to make the size of the thing bigger at a later date will be greatly reduced. Since you're in Illustrator, you might consider EPS, which preserves more vector data. If there's text in the Image, and you wish to save as eps, make sure that yu outline the rext to prevent any font problems at a later production stage. If you do outline text, make sure that you work on a copy of the original Illustrator doc because, once you do a save with the text outlined, you'll lose the ability to edit the text.

I don't imagine you will be able to do this

When converting the vector artwork to TIFF it will have to adopt an RGB or CMYK colourspace. This image format will then no longer be able to describe spot colours
