Hello Team,
We are looking to install a new Livelink environment and for that we were wondering whether we can do tiered storage for EFS.

Meaning, instead of having EFS mapped to say F: drive which in turn has say 500 GB or 1 TB or storage, we were wondering whether we can have like F:\ drive having 200GB at first and then another drive (say H:) being put with another 300GB and this can be used as EFS (on top of the F: drive).

When you configure EFS I do not think this kind of tiered facility is there. Can you confirm this. Meaning we can only add to say F:\drive thereby taking it from 200 to 500 GB but we cannot add new space in new drive's and add it as EFS in Livelink.

Are you talking about logical storage providers.Since 9.5 spi there is a command called storage providers that will take a business rule which will route your versions.Obviously you may know this and I am misreading this.BTW on les9.7.1 there is even a command that I had to debug and figure out for myself.I put it as a blog here....
Then there is the all powerful Felexible Storage Management.Check out its specs as well I have not played with it.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

Livelink 971 provides the option for multiple Storage Providers to be configured as well as Storage Rules which determine which content gets put into which provider, suggest that you look into this.

Thanks Appnair/Greg. I will take a look at both storage provider and FSM. If any questions, I will revert back on this post.
