Anyone out there remember E&M tie lines for a Magix??
I know they are a 4 wire ckt and I have a cust. talking about a 2 wire tie line- will that work in a Magix using a Tie line ckt board??
It's hard to find any info about this on the AVAYA site.
Thanks!

There are 2-wire E/M circuits, but the module for the Legend/Magix I believe is only for 4-wire E/M circuits. I will check my references and post back.

Can you get anymore info from the customer?
Do the 2-wire E/M circuits currently exist inservice?

It looks like the 400EM Tie Trunk Module is only a 4-wire TX/RX transmission device with dip switch settings for E/M signaling options. Each module provides four circuits.

Hope that helps!

After talking to the cust a bit more I found out that he is talking about a point to point T1 & not E&M tie lines. Is this doable connecting to a ROLM system using a 100D board? I have always done this AVAYA to AVAYA.
Thanks!

Perhaps you could talk to the Rolm guy to see if he can connect to IP Office. If so you could spend a few $$ and put IPO on the ROLM side to connect to Merlin via point to point. There is a tech tip for that.

Otherwise you may be able to back into it by setting Merlin to Mer-Network and having the ROLM set to Digital Tie Lines. The merlin would have to operate on "extension to match.

So long as you're emulating standard tie lines, it should work fine. At least the Magix end will be fine.

The Legend Network Reference document is a good resource for reviewing your networking options and capabilities for the Magix.
