Is there a setting on the sender's side that can keep text attachments from showing in the email body in Thunderbird. We learned of the menu option View, Display Attachments inline. However that only works when the recipient/user sets this up. We prefer not to have to put an announcement in all our outgoing mail telling recipients to uncheck this menu item in order not to see the text attachments in the email body. When we send the same email with a text attachment out using the web based interface (same email address for sender and recipient as in Thunderbird), the attachment shows up as attachment only, even when the recipient opens up in Thunderbird, which is what we want. Leads me to think that there is an additional setting somewhere in Thunderbird that needs to be set to disable body display of attachment.
Thunderbird version 2.0.0.21 (20090302). I did a search and followed the steps from but it didn't work for me, or I didn't do something right.
