It was a bad setup to begin with, which we have fixed...sorta.

This facility has a Merlin Legend, No defined operator, but 2 operator phones. (one w/merlin, one w/bldg mgr)

Acct Reps need to answer multiple calls
Place calls on hold
Page the called party
See if the called party has retrieved the call


The current setup allows the calls to be placed on hold, however if 2 calls are on hold the answering party cannot determine if one or both have been picked up. The caller then stays in "hold land" forever.

I'd like to park the call in a pool (not on the phone) so the called party can pick the call.

I tried programming a park button, but that appears to only park the call on the answering ext, or park on the called parties ext. (assuming they are on the phone). In most cases they are not.

Any suggestions?
 
Each operator position has 8 park positions, default numbered 881-888. If the "Operator" phones are in the "Operator" positions on the Legend, and programmed as an oeprator positon, you have what you need.
 
hmm. I think we tried this already.

I added a park button on the phones. which only parked the call on the extension that answered the call.

If I use an operator postion on the legend the capabilities of the phone(MLX16) change?
 
seeing your opertor station is a MLX 16 you can not use park pool 881-889 without a dss console ,on station call park touch transfer to yourself example station 101 transfer to station 101 hit transfer again, hang up , or use your program park . To pick up a call from park use call pickup program to a button dial 101 or depending on your release,some you can #9 station 101
