I have a Cat5500 with an integrated RSM that routes between our many VLANs plus handles out Internet traffic. Every 2 minutes we are encountering a throttle on one of the VLAN interfaces on the RSM. After doing packet analysis, I found that the traffic causing this problem was NetBIOS NS requests generated by all the Windows 98 and 2000 wks. As far as I am aware, this traffic is required in a Windows environment and am looking for a way round it.
Thanks,
Daniel,
