Three Software Problems

1. Computer won’t power down completely – hard drives turn off but cooling fan and monitor remain on. Must use on/off switch.

2. Incomplete downloads – for example, virus definitions file stops downloading midstream. Downloads need to be coaxed along by manually clicking on Stop and then Resume. Turning off a password protected screen saver (standard Starfield Simulation) seems to help.

3. Access to internet spotty – accessing email and websites fails frequently, most often on the initial attempt. Lots of back round activity - either Zone Alarm and/or Norton (or a virus - scans indicate none)

These issues surfaced around the time of the SobigF and Blaster viruses and after upgrading to ZoneAlarm 3.72 and Norton System Works 2003.

If anyone has experienced any of these issues, I'd love to know how they were resolved.
