I have an application where there are three phones that need to share access to four *inbound* lines. Ideally I'd want each line to show on it's own button.

Each of the lines is for a different purpose but the same people will service the lines - they just need to know how to answer: "Help Hotline", "Customer Service", etc.

I thought I could put the lines into the same line group and then put the three extensions into that "ILG". Didn't work. Any ideas?

There is a T1 coming in. Lines are configures as L001 - L024. The lines I'm working with are L017,L018,L019,L020.
Extensions 230,246,251.

You could simple set the lines to appear and ring on all 3 sets.

I did that but, if I'm not mistaken, no matter what line the call comes in on it will show up on the first button unless one is already in use then rolling to the second.

I need for each line to show up on its own button. Even though the button says 'L017' it'll be the one that flashes whe a call comes in on 'L018'.

these are three lines but people call one number that hunts to these three lines. so when a person dials the main number it goes to the first line if its not open than it hunts too the second line. If this is your setup than I think you are out of luck.

Then each line must have its own unique phone number and not be part of any hunting from your telco.

Each line has its own number and the number given ot is specific to which line we want the call to come in on. That was the whole idea, to the number ending in 5637, coming in on L17 to go to the first button on the phone,
5638 coming in on L18 and go to the second button, etc.

We just wanted three phones each having access to all of the lines so anyone could pick and know what the inbound call was for.

But no matter which of the lines I call in on, if no other lines are in use, it always goes to the first button - so we don't know what line the person called in on!

Very confusing. I just set all four to "appear and ring" for each of the sets thinking that would do the trick.

how about "if you have new software" front end with AA with CCR tree with options goin to HUNT groups... 4 hunt groups on each set named the 4 groups ...then always know what customer wants

it sounds like your T1 has a trunk group set on channels 17-20 delivering DID digits for these calls but only on these four trunks. check to see if you have any target lines set up for the last 3/4 digits you are expecting to receive or alternativly set up a target line with one of these numbers and see if you can route the calls that way. I know you think that each channel of the T1 has a number assigned to it but while the number may be assigned to it it may still be part of a trunk group.

If voting could really change things, it would be illegal.
