thread940-1742946 I rebooted my IP office 9.1 and now it won't boot up. It gets stuck with 2 red lights on each card in the system. There are 4 cards in it.

Try to recreate the the SD card! if it dosen't work, your power supply is fried.

Good luck!

If the power supply was shot you shouldn't get any lights. I would DTE into it and watch to see where it fails. Or start by pulling out all but one card and see if it comes up and add cards if the first one comes up as you may have a failed card keeping it from booting.

I am recreating the SD card now. The system would not even reset when I tried that.

If the power supply was shot you shouldn't get any lights." - oh if only. I've got a nice one that now just switches on/off about once a second with accompanying red light and clicking sound. Some kind of latching circuit on the power supply has probably failed. So, a failed/failing power supply can still involve interesting lamps.

I guess I assumed the LEDs were on steady as 'flashing' wasn't part of the description, and 'clicking' wasn't mentioned. I have seen hundreds of IPOs in a solid red light state that was a bad card or software.

What have you tried yourself to resolve this?? ie, have you tried removing the cards before going guns blazin and recreate the card. Have you tried another chassis. All simple quick things to do that will eliminate potential problem.

Tough to adivse further if you just say "my system doesn't work, what is wrong"

I've seen loads of systems where a base card was the culprit of bring the whole system down and stopping it form coming on for example.

[li]LED1 solid red. The base card isn't support in the IP Office mode/release/whatever the system is currently using.[/li]
[li]All LEDs solid red for 2 minutes, then flashing red for 2 minutes - Normal, the system is loading sofware from the SD card and then upgrading itself and attached units.[/li]
[li]The above repeating twice. The system is started with the Basic Edition firmware and is switching to the Standard Edition firmware (or the reverse).[/li]
[li]Permanent red lights. Lack of a recognised Avaya System SD card.[/li]
[/ol]

You're need to attach a DTE cable to the back of the unit and watch the serial port output.

I missed one:

[li]LEDS 1 and 9 fast flashing red. System in shutdown. Just power cycle it to restart.[/li]
