I've read various posts about the differences between Access and SQL. But in basic terms, could someone please tell me the differences between how Access and SQL handle threads? Specifically, how does thread usage from both systems consume network traffic within a LAN?

Thanks.

Why make it simple and efficient when it can be complex and wonderful?

SQL uses client/server technology ie. the query text goes from client m/c to server, server processes and ONLY the matching data (in the where clause of query) is sent to the client.

Access runs on the client and therefore the processing is done at the client. So ALL data is pulled from server an processed at the client. Therefore more traffic with Access.

Hope this helps
