Thousands of RIM messages!

Friday, client rec'd more than 2000 messages from
network@etp02.etp.na.blackberry.net, with the ETP.DAT message attachment. Running desktop redirector 3.6.0.31. All messages show up in his Inbox.

We've seen this happen occasionally before, but usually only a dozen or so, then it clears up.

What could have caused this?

I get this all the time as well but have set up a rule in outlook to autodelete them. I'll be interested to see if there is a fix though.

That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

This usually means the email isn't being routeds correctly to the device. Contact RIM support there IS a fix.
