After moving, I was forced to changed ISPs, so I made sure I found one that was 'straight' PPP (used NetZero previously - proprietary dialers and such are a pain). Hoped that getting online with Linux would be a snap after that, but it's not been so...
I can connect, but can't do much as my resources go out the window running thousands of ip-up.local processes. What on earth is it doing? I assumed I'd done something strangely wrong in a config file, but can't find anything obvious. Not sure I'm looking everywhere either though...

Anyone got a little PPP help for a puzzled newbie? ;)
 
I opted to do a fresh reinstall of Red Hat.... My PPP connection is peachy keen now, and I noticed some things I hadn't before during the installation too.
