This site has them. They are like keywords that turn into links after the page loads. There are lot of sites that have them...all of the ones I've noticed are huge sites, like this one, with tons and tons of content. What makes these things tick? Is it commercial software? Is it open source? Is there somewhere I can get my hands on the magic that makes I work?

I've been out of the loop too long...I missed the birth of this one...

I think you can do it with CSS and javascript. I don't know how, but I think I heard that somewheres.

The other thing is, that since all the content (on this site) comes out of the db, as you output your query, you can parse the text, and then cross-link to another database which holds all the ads. Then, all you have to do when you parse the content's output, just pop in some css mouseovers or javascript.
