I have the desktop version of SQL Server installed on my computer. I am converting an application from FoxPro to SQL. Since I don't have the Enterprise Manager installed, I am using the Access ADP to import the data over to SQL Server.

It's working OK except for the fact that the tables in SQL Server that I have in the ADP file are not updateable.

When I try to add or edit a table, a message on the status bar says, "This Recordset is not Updateable".

I would appreciate it very much if anyone out there could give me a clue to what's happening.

Thanks in advance.

David

Sometimes it drops the primary key when moving tables around. If that happened, then you wouldn't be able to update.

How would I know if the primary key were dropped?

go to the properties of the table and see if there is a primary key

Duuh... I should have known to do that.

All I had to do was add a field with a primary key, and it works fine.

Thanks for the help!
