I admittedly am not a Access programmer. I have an Access DB that I am using as a front End for a MySql DB. Within this Access frontend I have a report that is setup to go to the local dot matrix printer on her machine. She is the only user of this DB. For no apparent reason, the report print paramenters get defaulted to her default printer which is a networked printer. It loses, Landscape orientation, page margins, etc.. What could cause this? The network printer is her default printer. Is there a way to "LOCK" the printer settings so nothing can change them?

Thanks

You didn't say which version of Access is being used, but if A2K, then there is a bug in the earlier versions which I believe was fixed in one of the subsequent updates (SP2, SP4?).

Cheers,
Bill

Open the report in design view on her PC and go into File->Page Setup->Page and select a different printer and then save the report. If you are using Access 2000 make sure you have the latest service packs installed.

Thanks for the replies guys. I / she is using Access 2000 I'll have to check the SPs. Bill, your suggestion is what I have to do every time it screws up. It is just strange.

Thanks

If memory serves me correctly, in conjunction with the above suggestions, try turning Tools/ Options / General - turn autoname correct off if it is enabled.
