Hi,

I have downloaded an aspx file and try to open the file in VS2008 or dreamweaver and get the following error message

"This is a marker file generated by the precompilation tool, and should not be deleted!"

Anyone know how I can read the contents of this file and edit it

Thanks

It sounds like it's not that important then if it's just a "marker" file.

If you really must view it's contents, try contacting the original author of wherever you downloaded it from.

Hi,
By 'marker file' it means that the page was from a compiled application whose code is contained in a DLL or DLLs in the application's bin subdirectory ( usually) .. It is not available ( intentionally) for downloading in source form.
