I have 60 BCM's in the field and need to update them every few months. The file I need to change is on the D: Drive.

data files\nortel networks\voip gateway\remotegateway.cfg

I need to make a copy of this file to my Laptop and then edit it. I then need to download this edited file to all my BCM's 1 at a time.

So far i have been unable to retrive the file to my Laptop.

Does anyone know how I can get the file to my Laptop, do the edit and then download it back to the BCM??????

PS
I have been trying to use Telnet to do this and I can get to the file and read it, but I just can't copy it to my Laptop.

I would install an ftp server (BulletProof works great) on your laptop. Use the CLI to invoke the FTP put command to drop it on your laptop and then use the FTP get command on each BCM that needs it as well.

Slow, but effective.

I tried Bulletproof, but I can't get to the Directory where the files is. Bulletproof takes me to a directory /

and there are 2 directory's there

/
/cdrftp
/nortel networks

This is where the file is. How do i change to this directory

d:\data files\nortel networks\voip gateway\remotegateway.cfg

You can't. The FTP server only allows you access to the E: drive. You need to copy that file to the e:\ftproot folder, suck it down, modify it, put it back on the BCM then copy it back to the proper location.

just curious Ace what is the purpose of this because it's a remotegateway ? anytime you make a change to one you need to tell the rest ?

It's only dialtone-VZ

With 60 BCM's you should budget for a signalling server on your main PBX. Life would be a bit easier for you then. Register the BCM's to the gatekeeper and make your numbering changes in one location.

Remotegatway.cfg is the file that you add all your sites IP address, CDP, Ver to so when the user dials the 4 digit loc code and the extn number the VOIP system knows where to send it.

We just deleted 3 sites and added 4 new sites and it's a pain in the Butt to login each one and make the changes manually.

How about using VNC, I used this once about 1 1/2 years ago and I forget how to start it. manyone have the proceedure?
