This has only been happening recently, the windows messenger on two machines on my network keep disconnecting, but the program doesn't show that until an attempt is made to use it, also MIRC disconnects but again nothing happens until something is typed into it and then it reports "Software caused connection abort".

I've trawled the web for answers but to no avail, some mention is made about socks problems in regard to mirc.

It's got to the stage where irc is unusable becuase any queues are lost because I go offline and so loose my place in the queues.

E-Donkey Is the culprit, a friend had it running on his computer on the network, it was making irc on my machine and windows messenger on both machines disconnect.

I hope someone other than myself reads this because it could be quite useful.

I have found by setting an announcement in my own IRC channel to broadcast every 2 minutes this stops IRC from disconnecting ! ---------------
