Hey, guys.

Just curious. Is this group going to "become" the home for SQL Server Integration Services questions as well as the old (soon to be defunct) DTS questions? Or is there a separate SSIS group in existence?

I ask because I don't want to start posting SSIS questions in the wrong place.

Thanks!

That's what I was thinking. Anyone else want to weigh in?

This group should stay as it is and a new SSIS group should be created. As they are very different and many people will continue to use DTS for many, many years.

Okay. I am officially working on getting a new group started for SSIS. Not that I know anything about it, but I figure the sooner we have a group for it, the sooner I can start learning what SSIS is all about. @=)

I've spoken with the site owner about it, and he's open to the idea. Hopefully it'll be setup shortly.

yea SSIS does take some getting used to but once you figure things out you can do so much more faster. I demoed a small piece of our nightly dataload in SSIS as opposed to the current DTS current DTS uses 4 datapumps and about 6 stored procedures. SSIS I was able to do use 5 data sources 1 destination and about a dozen other tasks and 0 stored procedures. and it was about 60% faster.
