That is a pretty much summs up the IT positions in the future. The fight is already starting to become brutal. Those who lack experience are being left out in the cold. The jobs in my area have dried out if you do not have
1)-College Degree
2)-UNIX eperience

The days of Total Windows Networks are gone. More companies are doing the LINUX (or some form of free OS) because NT is so expensive and not totally secure. James Collins

It seems that the current deal is to get out of contracting into full time and if you are in full time, never leave. Even if you hate it.

Changing jobs is often out of the frying pan. Stick where you are for 2 years and pray like mad that things pick up - otherwise everyone in IT is going to be suicidal by then.
