Why are people voting for any old post in this forum these days. It seems that people are voting for each other in a tit for tat situation. I've lately seen situations where the question posted has been voted for twice. Stop now. -GTM Solutions, Home of USITE-

I've always thought it pretty strange when I see the actual question have a star. It's as if the person doing the posting is so proud of his question that he votes for himself!

Perhaps it's the lure of the prize?

The reason the question has a star is because farther down the post someone voted for the person who asked the question.
So their name has how ever many stars next to it
all the way up and down the post.
Like this one for example:

thread333-106490

The stars don't just stay locked to a particular answer they stay locked to that post to that person. so if someone votes for the person who wrote the question their name has the stars from Top to Bottom. As soon as they respond again there will be 2 stars next to their name.

Now why did someone else vote for the person who wrote the question is beyond me.
I think perhaps that same someone is coming in under another name and voting for themselves. DougP, MCP

or maybe the person who asked the question, found the answer themselves and posted it which answered the question for someone else. Eh?

Also, I don't believe you can vote for yourself...it takes out the voting script for your own messages.

May be some one figured that his/her question been already asked by a user. And hence in the sense to appreciate that user, he/she may have given a vote.

IMHO, I see nothing wrong in that. If the question is good enough, and definitely not an FAQ, then I feel its ok to vote for the Person who asked the question.

Thank you...
