Well, trying to uninstall Cognos Impromptu Admin 7.3 MR1 and am getting a Visual C++ msgBox which states "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way".
Tried MS KB884538 and got the hotfix. Nope. No good. Have tried disabling ALL I.E. addons (no google toolbar installed). Still no joy. Strongly suspect that the error has something to do with the .Net framework installed (version 2.0) or the MSXML 4.0 SP2 Parser and SDK.
Am on XP pro sp2.
Have seen extensive postings, most of which refer to google toolbar or to dodgy/out of date .dll's. Mine appear to be up to date so any pointers would be really appreciated.

Hi Folks
Had to strip all references to cognos out of the registry in the end, then manually delete the files and folders.
Clean un/install can now be successfully done.
