thanks for your valuable information... i also need to know how i can extract the metadata of a crystal report..? where it get stored?... is there any possible way to do it without a third party too.. kindly help me in this if u know....

Yes, you can export the report to "Report Definition" format. This gives you a text file with all that information.

I tried the one you said and it worked out. Thanks. My need is to extract only few details like the table name, columns present, formulae used, filters used etc. So can you tell me which APIs will be best suited for such a requirement?
