My company recently installed a Cisco CallManager VOIP system. We need to add more ports. We have Cisco 3550 powered switches.

I found this powered switch from Netgear for only $950: It allows port trunking and configuration of VLANs, as well as QoS. Will we be able to run our Cisco 7940 phones on it?

I have not use third party switches with cisco phones but I know the switches use CDP for phone discovery to determine when to pass data on the auxillary vlan if you plan on using 79xx with data port on phone... Not saying the netgear device won't do this but it is the one issue I would really be conserned about..
