Hey there. I'm running an ATI x1600 AGP graphics card with stock cooling. I was playing the other night and after 2 hours some of the colors in the game were not right, all the whites of the snow was pink, blue, green... things like that. I think it got to hot. I quite about 15 minutes later because I didn't want to damage it. The games is fine now so I don'think I caused any permanent damage.

I just bought a PCI slot fan from antec that blows right into the fan if the GPU and it brought the temp down 7 degress Celceus under a load.

Do you guys think I caused damage to the card or should it be ok? That's the first time it's happened. I've take the side of the case off and added that gpu fan which seems to make a difference.... I just wonder if I caused damage or if I got lucky... let me know what you think.

Good thinking with the cooling. I think it should be fine now.

It's a shame that vendors now tend to sell cheap cooling solutions on powerful hardware. So many laptop users burn their chips when overpowered P4s are used with some crappy heatsink. True with GPUs as well.
