This is what I am trying to do, can you tell me why it won't work!!

I want to browse for a folder on a client pc and then create the same directory structure on the server and then upload all the files to the correct places.

Now on my home server i can do this. It works fine.
Howver on a proper webserver i can not browse a client machine, or can I?

Also if i can't can i just type a path and have the script upload that paht, or will the path try to translate to the server? help!!!

}...the bane of my life!

That much I know, but there is no way of sendng the information to the server?
Or using javascript to build a list that i can send to the server?

nope. if that is possible then it would be a hacker's dream (imagine, anyone can access your system files by using just javascript).

however for the more adventerous the IE browser provides an ActiveXObject() method in javascript. u could try that out...

Known is handfull, Unknown is worldfull

You could do it with the FSO in client-side script but the users is going to be prompted with at least one security warning.

The JavaScript forum may be a better place to get help for client-side scripting: forum216
