Hi,

I am thinking of buying the Thermaltake V2000+ Xaser III Supertower ATX PC Case to replace my current PC Case (which will not allow me to fit the new GeForce FX5900XT graphics card I bought recently as it is too long and touches the 2 HDD).

Is the Thermaltake case a good case or is there a better one that you can recommend??? Does anyone know of any problems with the case???

Thanks

No personal experience with this case, but after reading some reviews I only see a few issues with fiting floppy drives in the bays.

here is that review

yes this case is totaly screwles the only problem i had was fitting my floppy drive but it could have just been my drive being longer than normal so i fitted screws and not realy a problem the 5"inch bays for DVD or CD are a breez to fit and also easy to remove - the same with the 3"inch bays for your Hard Drives plus you have 6 (YES 6) hard drive bays and the 2 fans at the front draw air over them to keep them cool the fittings for the PCI and AGP connectors are alse fairly easy to fit but you have the option to revert to normal screw fitting if you have a higher than normal card - so all in all an exelent case with superb features

looks like a very good upgrade.

We have built around 7 systems using this case and never encounted graphics card problems in any.
All have been high end, mostly P4's and all have have either Radeon 9800XT's, Geforce FX5900ultra's or Late
GF4 4800Ti's
Infact, come to think of it, my colleage Michael has this case with an IC7 Max3 fitted with a Leadtek FX5950ultra.
Where did you get your info from? I think it is suspect.
Just as a side note I have a LianLi midi case with a FX5900XT, I'm looking at it now and the power terminal rear of the card is a good 2.5 inches away from my hard drives, I'm fairly sure the Xaser III's are just as deep and the hard drive caddy is similar on both.

I'll ask Michael tomorrow if he encounted any problems but as I said his is up and running.

Thanks for your replies. I actually mean that my current pc case (I dont even know who made it...its that old, I've had it since 1997!!!) is the one that is giving me problems with fitting the graphics card.

I am thinking of buying the Thermaltake V2000+ Xaser III Supertower ATX PC Case instead to replace my old one.

Paparazi: Since you have built about 7 systems using this case, have you encountered any difficulties with it or have any bad points about it??? I am assuming you would recommend it since you have built 7 systems with it???

Thanks for your help.
