woudering if i could get a few suggestions from anyone here on a issues with a thermal printer. i have the printer as a share on my network so that people can produce shipping labels from their work station with out having to be right at the shipping table pc. when they send the label it will spit out the label but it does not print anything on it. any ideas what im doing wrong? the thermal is set up on a com port and im woundering if that isnt the problem? thanks

I'm using a UPS thermal printer (serial connection) across my network without any problems. First, does the printer work correctly from the machine that it's attached to? Do the remote machines have the correct drivers installed?

yes on both smah..like i said it will kick out the label just no writing on it. got me smah any special settings or maybe fonts or something that it needs to print???thanks for the reply

smah...did you use the drivers from the ups directory when you installed it on your work stations or did you have a driver disk???

smah wanna hit you up for another quick question that ups printer your using whats the model #,we are using the 2442 here and i cant get anything maybe my model is just an outdated on ??thanks again and i'll leave you be now.

I'm using a 2442 also. Are you printing from UPS worldship or some othe application? Does the regular windows test page work from the remotes? Here's the driver from the UPS site ftp://ftp.ups.com/pub/drivers/UPS_319_117.exe

For my situation - I'm running the 2442 on the Worldship Administrative machine (Windows 98). The printer is shared on the peer to peer network like any other printer. The remote machines (xp and 98) have windows drivers installed. Worldship is set to use the 2442 as the default label printer. The driver info for the XP machine that I'm currently at is version 4.00 (driver name is upselt.dll)
