There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon

Don't know what's going on here, one minute all was going well and I could log into the domain as Admin etc. Then the next, I come up with this error??

I can't even login directly to the server with the domain. I have to change the domain to the local comp name and login locally. and when I do that I can't access the domain users at all??

I'm stumped!

Can't login to which server i assume as you said you had to logon locally that you mean a member server?

Is the domain controller experiencing any issues?

How many clients are experiencing this issue/is it network wide?

What OS are clients and servers running?

I can't logon to the server directly via the Admin account, nor any other systems can logon to get access to network drives.

I've traced it back to the AD not loading, the DNS doesn't load up because its reliant on the AD.

Can you log into safe mode on the DC and check the event logs??

I'm going to nuke it and start back at scratch.

It has something to do with the Active Directory not loading, which directly effects the DNS.

Too weird for such a basic install of 08.

did the dc have more than one dns entry?

I just nuked it and started from scratch. All is well and good again. Still perplexed as to what happened? No matter though.
