We have 2 windows 2000 domains, connected by a VPN, that trust each other. Users in domain "a" connect to a share on a non-domain controller server in domain "b". Three times now users in domain "a" have reported the following error message when attempting to access the share: "There are currently no logon servers available to process your request."
We can resolve the issue by taking the file server out of domain "b" and placing it in a workgroup and then rejoining domain "b" see MS Q article 306927.
But we can't seem to discover why this keeps happening. The other odd this is that the when the server starts acting like this we get messages in the event viewer that it is battling with another computer in domain "b" to act as tha master browser.
Any ideas?
