The woman who can destroy MacBooks and iPhones with just a glance

My daughter has a Macbook. The hard drives failed. She never backed up via time machine. Data was recovered off failed drive (itunes, etc). Failed drive was replaced. recovered data was put on new drive in a folder with the OS being reinstalled fresh

She went to synch iPhone, it won't synch. What needs to be done so synch can occur and I can calm the frantic woman.
