The WIFI only customer, what's the most amount of J179 wifi phones have you put out so far?

I have customers that are all wireless, they don't have Ethernet wiring in the offices. Anybody putting out 10, 20, 100, etc... of these J179 with wifi on a system? I have tested a couple with zero issues, but have not been wanting to do an all wifi install. Does Avaya have any guidelines on the number of wifi J179's? Does it matter? Should it be avoided in high numbers? I can work around the number of devices connected per wifi AP, but was curious how performance (i.e. simultaneous paging through the phones) would work, any gotcha's, etc...

Its back to the good old days of original IP telephones on 10mbps networks. It all worked, but because any network issue would show up by affecting the VoIP, we were always blamed for/held responsible for fixing the network issues - even when after diagnosis they usually turned out to be nothing to do with the phones. Fortunately improvements in network kit and 100/1000mbps networks as standard have much reduced that.

Putting all the phones in on WiFi risks making you held responsible for all the customer's Wifi network issue. Fine if you have time for that, if you've priced that in, if you have some control over where the access points are, etc - a real pain if you're always having to try and persuade their IT people to do thing with their wifi infrastructure. Not as bad as it could be since, though connected by WiFi, the phones will typically be static rather than moving around, ditto the user computers if any.

I know that doesn't answer your question - but I'm sure it will work, just that you need to price for it or hold them to a serious Wifi network assessment. Treat it like DECT, proper site survey with assessment of how many phones in each area using each access point. How many wifi devices doing the same...

Meanwhile I do have one J179 on wifi and it works absolutely fine. So great as a homeworker solution.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I had 2 connected when first testing it, both stayed stable for 24 hours before getting moved on.
