I live in Thailand but I do all my email in English. In the past I've never had any problem emailing anyone anywhere in the world until yesterday.

The person I'm emailing is Dutch and I keep getting this message:

The user does not accept email in non-Western (non-Latin) character sets.

Why would I be getting this error message when I am indeed emailing in English (it's the only language I know)?

How can I fix this?

Any assistance would be appreciated

in Outlook there is a setting in options that allows the acceptance of non-XXX emails

Thanks eyec

But the problem is not me receiving but sending, so changing the settings in Outlook on a computer half way around the world is not an option.

I think it's an encoding issue but I don't even know how my emails are encoded.

Even though I'm writing in English, I believe I'm probably sending Thai characters as well (in the extended font region). This is probably why the person at the other end detects non-western characters.

I'm not sure how to change this, or what to change it to.

Thanks

Hi franklin97355

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by 'character set' but here are some of the settings I've found.

Language: English US
Fonts: Western European
Outlook Rich Text: Convert to HTML
Encoding: Unicode (UTF-8)

There is a language selector on the task bar which is selectable between English and Thai.

Are there any other settings that I may not be aware of?

Thanks
