The system XXXXXX can be contacted, but there is no CMS running

When I try to logon to the repository i get the error "The system xxxxx can be contacted, but the is no CMS running on port 6400. How do I get the Central Management Sytem running?

Hi,
Assuming Windows, go to the CCM and start the CMS service.
(you can use the Control panel..Windows Services instead, but the CCM is the preferred route) - you may also need to restart other servers there as well.

If it does not start check to be sure that the database that it is connecting to is up and running.

If the CMS is running, you'll get this message if it's not running on the default ports. In that case you'll have to specify the port where the CMS is running in the format CMS Nameort.
