The sbapifs service failed to start on XP

In my Event Viewer receiving Error "The sbapifs service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified. "
Try with System Restore but this operation failed - reject to restore from different system points.
Any help to fix this. Check with MB Pro avast AV - no viruses or malware found.

Looks like it's legitimate software (vs. malware) and you could just remove all traces of it from ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS to fix the problem.

Probably should clear out all your restore points, reboot and then turn it on again.

Thanks for help.
Try different attempts to fix this problem, but unfortunately nothing works. At the end, reinstalled Win XP Pro.
If remember well, problem appears after install Spy Boat S&D and scan computer.
Uninstall Spy Boat, again install in hope it will solve problem- finally uninstall it and nothing – problem remain as in the beginning because System file was damaged or deleted by this program.

Yes, the brute force (reinstall) method ALWAYS works but it makes some people cry just thinking of doing it, so we try to avoid.
