Hi,

My client has two home computers networked together (sort of). One computer can see the other's hard drive and My Documents folder. The other can't. The name of the network that doesn't want to share its docs is "C$". I have a feeling that $ is the problem. Is it? If so, how do I delete it? I can't seem to find a way.

Thanks.

YOu delete the share, then create it again with the proper name.

Give the wrong symptoms, get the wrong solutions.

The C$ share is one of several administrative shares created automatically when the computer joins a domain.

Others are Admin$ & IPC$

Right-click 'My Computer' | Manage
Expand 'System Tools' | 'Shared Folders' | 'Shares'

Here you can see al the shares.

Note: deleting these shares will have adverse effect from a domain management perspective.
