Somehow the name John is always being changed to MSES in
all of my friends email where John is entered, either in the subject or in the body of the email. The outgoing email
looks fine, but the received message has been changed.

I have sent it as JOHN, John, JOHN's, john, john's, and
the name is always changed.

When all the 24 keyboard letters, upper or lower case,
are sent as a string, they are received OK.
abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ

I am sure that some "AUTOMATIC" helpful feature is turned
on but I don't know what, and how to turn it off!

Are you using Outlook/Word as your email program? If so, look for that in Word's custom dictionary.

What is your E-mail program?

Have you tried turning off any E-mail scanning by your security programs to see if the spelling improves?

How does "John" in incoming mail look?

What if you send yourself a "John" E-mail?

What does your E-mail look like if you save it in Drafts and look at it later?

See if there is an autoreplace function to turn off - probably in spell checker.
