I'm using Windows 2000.. But the modem can't detect the phone call ... I put the telephone and the telephone jack in the modem.. When I call the modem , I hear the ringing but the modem can't catch the call, because it can't detect it... I test the Hyper terminal And I found that It can detect it when I send an AT command " ATS0=n"
as n=1 to 255 ( # of waiting ringing ).. But still the Tapi can't detect it.. Does anybody know anything about that ??

under modem setting, I belive under Advanced, and on the connection tab somewhere, should be a section where you can put in your own ATZ type commands.

Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in , or have messed with : VC++, Borland C++ Builder, VJ++6(starting),VB-Dos, VB1 thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, Borland C++ 3(DOS), Borland C++ 4.5, HTML, ASP(somewhat), QBasic(least i didnt start with COBOL)

I tested that also,,
It didn't work,,, The modem can't sense the phone call....
I need help... Really I need help

um the software Tapi probally doesnt use your modem to answer, calls check to make sure yer modem manufactuer didnt already make specific software for the intentions you want.
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in , or have messed with : VC++, Borland C++ Builder, VJ++6(starting),VB-Dos, VB1 thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, Borland C++ 3(DOS), Borland C++ 4.5, HTML, ASP(somewhat), QBasic(least i didnt start with COBOL)

By the way have you tried the PC Hardware Forum?
Karl
kb244@kb244.8m.com
<a href=
Experienced in , or have messed with : VC++, Borland C++ Builder, VJ++6(starting),VB-Dos, VB1 thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, Borland C++ 3(DOS), Borland C++ 4.5, HTML, ASP(somewhat), QBasic(least i didnt start with COBOL)

I did so,,,
Nothing new... I think I have to buy another modem...
I will test it again.. But I think I will buy another one... :(

I think the problem you are having is the TR light or MR light may not be on when you initialize the modem. You may want to look at the &D and &C settings in your modem.

You can test this by calling your modem and have HyperTerminal up and when you see the ring light blinking send a ATD it should force you modem to pickup.

Leaf

for my own persona reference(I have a External mode) how would you see the TR/MR lights on an internal?

kb244,

I am not sure, but at one time I did see some VB code that would display the status lights of the modem. Of course I forgot where I saw the code.

You may want to look at the MSComm Event codes it will tell the status of the port, if ring is detected etc.

Good Luck,
Leaf
