Hi!

When I try to open/create reports in Crystal Reports 8.5, I get the following error.

The instruction at '0x77fc8f11' referenced memory at '0x3b8b10f6'. The memory could not be written.

I was trying to debug the delphi code for generating the reports. When it tried to print, it did not find the printer. I mean some error while debugging. I came out of delphi, ran crystal I got this error for the first time.

I use, Crystal 8.5, sql server 2000, delphi.
This happens only in my pc in a group of 8.
Changed the machine, profile...

Can some one help me with this.

Thanks

Jasti

Unfortunately, this is a common problem with multiple sources so it is hard to track down. It can be hardware or software related. First, try reseating your RAM chips. If that doesn't work, try exchanging your RAM with a machine that used the same chips.

Printers are another source. Some HP printers don't like to be "networked" if there isn't a local printer installed first. Since you can't print anfter the error pops, I would check your printer second. Try unistalling ALL printers and their drivers, then reinstalling starting with your local default printer first.

Corrupt DLL's and system files (esp. the page sys file used by virtual memory) are common sources. You could try uninstalling programs untill the problem goes away then reinstalling them, checking each one after installing, to see anything helps.

Good luck!

Hmm, i do have the same sort of problem but then with visual basic. I wrote a program to print reports and it works until last week. I did a bunch of Windows XP updates and after the installations of the MicroSSoft hotfixes i get an error with the message Application error: "The instruction at "0xbla" referenced memory at "0xbla". The memory couldt not be "written".

I have Windows XP with Crystal Reports (Developer) 8.5 and Visual Studio 6.0 with sp5

Removed all the microsoft hot-fixes, reinstalled Visual Studio with SP5, reinstalled Crystal Reports, Reinstalled Internet Explorer (i don't know why but...) Downloaded and installed the hot-fixes from Crystal Reports... But nothing seems to work? I think a Crystal Reports dll has some "communication problems" with an updated Windows XP dll. Does anybody has this problem after an update from windows and ... does anybody know a sollution??????
