One of the users is getting this error at boot up.

"The main hard disk is not loading"

Not every time. Just out of the blue

Any suggestions?

I've never seen that error message before, are you sure that is the exact text? What Operating system are you using? Does the operating system continue to load anyway or do you have to restart the machine.

More information please.

Sorry, about not giving enough info..

Its a win 2000 machine..It stops at that message and the user had to restart 3 times, and then it came up fine. I've never this either..Just checking to see if there is anything I could possibly do before reimaging the machine or replacing the hd.

Thanks for the quick response

While I have not seen this particular message before, I would suspect that the hard drive is one the way out. Probably worth backing up all your data and replacing the drive.

If you want to be absolutely sure that the drive is on the verge of physical failure, try re-imagining as you mentioned. If the problem persists, there can be little doubt.

Similiar situation. Last night I left my machine on - AMD Clawhammer, two Seagate HDD, and ULI M1890 Mobo...when I woke this morning, the screen was out "Can't find boot device, please enter disk and hit enter" When I reboot, the main screen freezes as it searches for IDE devices, I can not even get into BIOS....any ideas as to why this happening, and what I can do to resolve this issue? Thanks for the time...

rokerij,
IF you have another computer you can use, take your hard drive out of your pc and put it into another one. What happens when you try to reboot? Does the drive make kind of clicking type noise? IF it does, the drive is dead or very close to it.
