I remember being told at an early age that @ meant at the price of. My mother used to recite the alphabet with ampersand (&), asterix (*), etc. I forget what she called the @ sign, though.

I guess that dates me pretty well, doesn't it? [blush]

Bit off topic but I thought funny.

A friend of mine started a company and called it Ampersand, he asked his graphic designer to incorporate this into his logo, however the designer was not all the savvy and the printed all my friends flyers, business cards, letter heads as

@mpersand and incorporated the @ symbol!

To this day my friend still states that the @ symbol is an ampersand as he has far too many goods printed to admit defeat!
