hi,
I would like information on the IBM Informix 4gl forms "format" attribute and its possible values. I can only find information about using pound signs (#) and decimal points for DECIMALS. For example, "###.##". For DATES you can also use (dd)(mm)(yyyy).

Is that the only options?

I have an example format string "<<<<<<<&.##". However, I cannot find any documentation/support for these characters within a format string. Does anyone have documentation on these?
Thanks,
pete

Take a look at the FORMAT section of the Informix SQL Reference Manual, pg 2.42. The manual is available online here:

Also, if you have the newer versions of Informix 4GL, it supports the DBCENTURY shell variable. If the valuce is set to "C" for closest, you can use a date format of "mm/dd/yy". Then entering "00" sets the date to 2000 and not 1900.
