The Diference between PCI 2.1 and PCI2.2 slot 1

Hi,friends!
I am gona have a ADSL connection and I am still thinking what kind of modem to put.The options are-Internal PCI modem or external USB modem.I found a Internal PCI modem-DLink 100D but he is compliant to PCI 2.2 specifications.My motherboard is SOYO SY-6BA+ and there are 5 PCI slots but compliant to PCI 2.1!!!Can someone tell me what is the diference between PCI 2.2 and PCI 2.1 and can I use the modem???

you should have no problems with backward compatibity. the pci 2.2 should be fine for pci 2.1 slots and the power specs should be ok too. "Jack of all trades. Master of none."

Can anyone tell me how can i find my PCI slot complaince , i have Intel 810e chitset metcury board with 3 slots.
