Date on V8 is set with NTP - Network Time Protocol

An XML file created the V8 - in that XML is the IP address of the NTP server.
If it's a demo system then some domestic routers do transmit NTP

Changing time directly on Linux-Host command line, if duplex do on both processors:
# date -s 17:25 or # date -s "YYYY-MM-TT hh:mm:ss"
# date -s "2012-12-31 09:51:24" => date & time. changed

Indeed - thanks for that - but the clock will drift which is where the NTP comes in.
You can setup an NTP server on a computer on your network
