the database is exclusive mode

the machine have installed:
win98
msaccess2000

when i install my app in a stand alone compute,and try to run, get the error:

can not open the database, because another user is using the database or is open in exclusive mode by another user..

...

the computer is not connected to anything, and no another user connected to my computer

what is wrong or what is happened...

This is obviously a adoconnection issue. You can open the database in a number of ways Please elaborate further
a couple of questions
at what point do you get the error and when do you first connect to the db?
can you post some code.
