Hey Guys;

I get this error during backup verification
0xa00084ca - The data being read from the media is inconsistent.
There are 2 areas that it fails to verify, the mailbox store and public folders.
We have done a restore from the tapes and it seems to work, but we can't seem to find a acceptable answer as to why the verification process is failing.
We have cleaned the tape drive, put in new tapes.
We are using Server 2000 and Exchange 2000. We have the exchange agent, and advanced Open File Option installed and working...We are using Backup Exec 9.1

Any help on this would be great.

P.S. We need to have the alerts working and reporting no errors because this server is a very crutial live machine.

Thanks again.

I would recommend disabling the verification. The alerts will still work and will show any problems with data or tapes/drives. I tried for several months to resolve this same error and could not. Upon recommendation of several members of this forum I decided to disable and just watch the alerts. It works fine for us. It caught a bad tape yesterday and a virus file that was not up to date. I have restored data from the tapes without incident.

Best Regards,
David Tracy
