using the lsdev command in the system:
lsdev -Cc tape

Output nothing.

The tape drive can find in another 520 server.

Can you help me?Thank you.

hi,

1) when you don't find, try by lsdev -C | pg, to be sure that the syntax is correct or it is stored as other.

2) using smitty devices, look under tapes

3) put AIX CD1 inside driver, and always in smitty devices go in ".. devices added after.."; fill (F4) /dev/cd0 in devices field: Go. If drivers are already in lpp, this operations usually is not necessary, doing a reboot or a cmfmgr command (the same command launched by smitty: see F6), but if devices drivers are not loaded this is the way to load them (or chgmgr with some command qualifier, see also F6).

bye
