Hello folks
I am installing a test environment and just installed a nw51 box. Everything worked fine during the install but when I put on SP8 and restart the box I get this message:

The critical component PVER500.NLM was not loaded or executed or is missing.
Netware cannot function without this component.

First I thought it might be hardware related since I was installing nw51 on a normal pc (compaq ens) but then I installed nw51 on an old Proliant 3000 and I got the same error after installing sp8 (I also tried installing sp7 first with same result).

Does anyone know why this happens ?

/Dan

I had this issue myself and wound up manually copying the new PVER500.NLM over the old one. I can't remember if it's on the server's C:\ drive (dos partition) or if it goes in SYS:SYSTEM, though.

How did you fix this problem? It happened to me last night and I can't find the new version of PVER500.NLM. I can't get nwconfig to load. Please help.

Actually the problem solved it self.. I left the server running during the weekend and when I came back on monday I restarted the box and it just worked, very strange indeed...

That module PVER500.NLM is internal to the SERVER.EXE file. If you have problems loading it, you may have an issue with the SERVER.EXE not updating with the service pack.

Check the dates of the SERVER.EXE and make sure they match with what is in the service pack.
