Hi

I have an Access db with a main form that opens when you open the db. On this form is a Find button (created using wizard - so is standard). When you go into the db and try to use this Find facility you get the error message:

The command or action 'Find' isn't available now.

I have ascertained that if you go into design mode then back into Form View (without doing anything else) then the button works. But obviously I don't want to have to go into design view everytime I (or someone else) opens the db.

Can someone give me some info on how to fix this.

Thanks
Jo

I'm just guessing, but maybe you have the form's Modal or Popup property set to Yes? Since your form is being opened by Access startup code, making the form modal can delay the completion of the startup until the form is closed (or switched to Design View). Similarly, when a Popup form is open, the menu and toolbars (and therefore their commands) are unavailable. Rick Sprague
