I am trying to install debian on an older gateway computer of mine. I am booting from the floppy disks that I downloaded from debian.org. I also downloaded the first .iso and also the min boot cd. But I can't get the computer to boot from the cd's for some reason.

So When I am booting from the floppy disks I eventually come to this error message when I have the .iso cd in the drive.

Any idea of what I am doing wrong?

You need to extract the files from the iso file onto CDs. you can do this with several of the cd burning software like Nero or Roxio. Burn CD from image.

The answer is "42"
